Huntington University head coaches Mike Frame and Doug Gower were recently presented with plaques to commemorate significant milestones in their baseball and softball coaching careers, respectively.

Frame, having just wrapped up his 33rd year at the helm of the HU baseball program, notched his 800th career win in the opening round of the Crossroads League tournament with an 11-1 decision over Bethel College on May 6.

To date, Frame has accrued 805 wins against 666 losses and along the way has guided the Foresters to eight regular season conference championships and just as many conference tournament titles. His teams have earned three bids to the NAIA National Tournament. He has coached 12 NAIA All-Americans and five of his players have gone on to play professionally.

As the 13-year skipper of the HU softball program, Gower picked up his 300th win on April 29 in the second game of a doubleheader against Spring Arbor. Gower currently carries an overall record of 300-266-2.

Gower has led Huntington to nine consecutive seasons of at least 20 wins. His résumé also includes guiding the Foresters to NAIA Nationals twice and to their most wins in a season, with 37 victories in 2016.
