Forester trackwomen fall short in bid for nationals

Members of the Huntington University women’s track team fell short in their efforts to qualify for the NAIA Outdoor Nationals while competing at the Hillsdale College Classic on Thursday, May 11.

Jean Donaldson produced the team’s lone podium finish on the day, capturing third in javelin with a throw of 109-09.

Nicole Pennington claimed fifth in the 100-meter dash with a clocking of :12.62 and took sixth in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line in a personal-best :25.91.

Paige Coolman rounded out the Foresters’ day with a throw of 103-08 in discus, good for seventh.

Donaldson also competed in javelin at the Dr. Keeler Invitational, held Friday, May 12, at North Central College, and finished seventh with a toss of 120-07.
