Marion overpowers Lady Vike netters

The Huntington North High School girls' varsity tennis team was simply overpowered by visiting Marion, 0-5, on Monday, April 17.

Marion recorded at least one shutout in every match to drop HNHS to 2-2 on the season.

At first singles, Jessica Henline fell to Kayla Dubuque, 0-6, 1-6, while Katie Hunt at second singles lost to Makenzie Nelson, 3-6, 0-6. Tarah Zumbrun at No. 3 lost to Claire Hendricks, 0-6, 2-6.

The first doubles team of Macy Wohlford and Kassidy Thompson lost to Maria Porter and Elizabeth Wuertley, 0-6, 0-6, and the number two doubles team of Anna Schroeder and Alyssa Hewson fell to Courtney Kreisher and Sophia Kitts, 1-6, 0-6.

The Lady Vike junior varsity fell, 3-6, for its first loss of the season in four outings. Winners for HNHS were singles players Emily Bokel and Crosley Stanley and the doubles team of Mary Young and Katie Jamison.
