Adams Central sweeps Lady Vike netgirls

The Huntington North High School girls’ varsity tennis team got swept by visiting Adams Central, 0-5, on Thursday, April 13.

In singles action, Jessica Henline fell to Jenna Lehman, 4-6, 3-6, in the first match. Katie Hunt suffered a 4-6, 1-6 setback in the second contest to Maddie DeRoo. The third tilt saw Alyssa Hewson get dispatched by Grace Faurote, 1-6, 1-6.

The Lady Vikings’ top doubles duo, Macy Wohlford and Kassidy Thompson, lost to Randi Bebout and Sarah Liter, 0-6, 4-6, while the No. 2 pair, Anna Schroeder and Leann Ringenberg, got defeated by Lily Kintz and Kyndall Roe, 4-6, 1-6.

Huntington North falls to 2-1 on the year.

It was a different story for the Lady Vikes’ junior varsity squad, which posted a 5-3 win to improve to 3-0.

Anna Doctor and Emily Daas were winners at second and third singles, respectively. The twosomes of Tarah Zumbrun and Braxtyn Maroney, Crosley Stanley and Emma Bickel and Mary Young and Sydney Smekens were victorious in doubles play.
