Marian humbles Forester hoop team

The Huntington University men’s basketball team got handed a 77-60 loss by visiting Marian University on Saturday, Feb. 11.
The Foresters trailed 45-34 after the first half and by as many as 20 points in the second to drop to 15-13, 6-10 in Crossroads League play.
Huntington went 26 of 56 from the field for 46.4 percent, which included a frosty 4 of 22 effort from beyond the arc. The Foresters added four points in six attempts at the free throw line for 66.7 percent.
Senior Daniel Woll and freshman Konner Platt paced Huntington with 12 points apiece. Woll also dispensed six assists. Sophomore Mason Coverstone chipped in 11 points and six rebounds.
Marian, 13-15, 4-12 in league action, got a game-high 24 points from Wesley Stowers. Curtis Green contributed 14 points to the team’s offensive effort while KC Earls added 13.
The Knights shot 44.3 percent from the field on 27 of 61 marksmanship and 81.3 percent at the charity stripe on a 13 of 16 showing.
Patrick Bell pulled down eight rebounds to help Marian finish with a 35-33 edge on the boards.
