Swimboys wrap up regular season with loss

The Huntington North High School boys’ swim team wrapped up its regular season with a 142-35 loss to host Bluffton on Tuesday, Feb. 7.

Cody Barton posted the Vikings’ lone win at the meet, topping the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:17.52. The senior was also a silver finisher in the 100-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 1:10.81.

Nathan York logged second and third place finishes for Huntington North. The freshman was runner-up in the 100-yard freestyle, in 1:09.49, and the bronze finisher in the 200-yard individual medley, in 3:05.75.

Junior Conner Mason rounded out the Vikings’ podium finishes in individual events with a third-place effort in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 5:25.06.

Mason was also a member of Huntington North’s 200 and 400-yard freestyle relay teams, which both finished third. The 200-yard squad, consisting of Mason, Barton, York and Quentin Casarez, stopped the timer in 2:09.80, while the 400-yard quartet, featuring Mason, Casarez, sophomore Aidan Miller and freshman Jamall Werling, finished in 5:50.91.
