HNHS girl swimmers fall to Norwell

The Huntington North High School girls' swim team took its first loss of the seasonon Thursday, Nov. 19, falling to host Norwell 113-72.

Huntington North won only the 200-yard freestyle relay race, beating the Norwell squad by over 21 seconds in 1:32.37. Members of the relay team were freshman Andrea Okuly, senior Linda Schmidt, sophomore Cassie Hacker and sophomore Sarah Karst.

The Lady Vikings took second in six other relay and individual events.

In the 200-yard medley relay, Huntington was seven seconds behind the winning Norwell team, with Okuly, Schmidt, Hacker and senior Mariah Patrick participating in the event.

Huntington North also took second in the 400-yard freestyle relay behind the efforts of Karst, Patrick, sophomore Emily Koons and freshman Ava Schulte.

In individual events, Okuly took second in the 100-yard butterflyand Hacker was less than a second behind the Norwell swimmer in the 100-yard freestyle.

Karst placed second in the 500-yard freestyle, and Patrick took the silver in the 100-yard backstroke.
