Rosen homer, 4 RBI lead Lady Vkes past Norwell

Kaylynn Rosen had a home run and a double and four runs batted in to help the Huntington North High School varsity softball team squeeze past visiting Norwell, 7-5, on Thursday, May 8.

Rosen, a senior, and juniors Maddi Kennedy and Natasha Grover each had two of the Lady Vikings;' seven hits in the contest, with Grover having a double among her pair.

The Lady Vikings, 16-5, broke a 2-2 tie with a pair of runs in the third inning, and pushed across three more runs in the sixth. Norwell tried to come back in the bottom of the seventh with three runs of its own, but Hannah Middlebrooks was able to quell the uprising and collect the save.

Mikayla Gray started and got the win, throwing three innings and yielding two runs, one earned, on two hits, with four strikeouts and three walks. Middlebrooks went the final four frames and gave up three runs, two earned, on four hits, with two strikeouts and one walk.
