Sophomore Lance Hoch placed third to lead the Huntington University golf team to a sixth place finish at the 2014 Crossroads League Golf Championship on Tuesday, April 29.
Hoch shot rounds of 77, 72 and 76 for a 12-over par 225 to claim the number three spot and all-conference honors, leading the Foresters to a team total of 940.
The Foresters, just one shot out of the lead after a first round 301 on Monday, came back with rounds of 313 and 326 on Tuesday.
"Lance Hoch had a great tournament and really matured as a golfer," said HU Head Coach Mark Green. "I am really proud of him for making the all-conference team. It's always fun to see guys reach personal goals, and Lance was able to do that today."
Devin Dale carded a 233 to finish in a three-way tie for 17th place for HU. Ryan Boester shot a 237 for 24th overall, which included a hole-in-one on his final hole of the tourney. Derek Zurcher finished with a 251 and Drew Benedict shot a 259.
Indiana Wesleyan won the team title with a score of 913, followed by Taylor with a 919 and Marion with a 924.
