HNHS track girls get three wins and fourth place at Lady Kingsmen Invite

The Huntington North High School girls' track team picked up three victories on the way to placing fourth out of 18 teams at the Lady Kingsmen Invitational at Penn on Saturday, April 26.
Seniors Maddie Klender and Paige Coolman earned wins in the shot put and discus, respectively, while sophomore Hannah Stoffel captured the 800-meter run to help Huntington North to 48 points.
Fort Wane Northrop won the meet with 123 points, followed by the host school with 102.50 and Fort Wayne Wayne with 68.
Klender heaved the shot 40-0.25 to win her specialty, and Coolman hurled the discus 115-10 for her win. Stoffel crusised to a 2:20.42 clocking to win her race.
Lindsey Foster got third place points for HNHS in the long jump, with a leap of 17-2.75, and eighth place points in the 200-meter dash, in :26.98. Lauren Sands added fourth place for HNHS in the shot, with a throw of 37-8.
Also scoring for HNHS was the 3,200-meter relay team, of Taryn Doering, Stephanie McElhaney, Stoffel and Marissa Jamison,which took fifth place in 10:21.09, and Allie Christian with seventh place in the 300-meter hurdles in :51.17.
