Grover HR, 4 RBI help Lady Vikes crush Wayne, 21-1

Natasha Grover smashed a home run and knocked in four runs to lead the Huntington North High School varsity softball team to a 21-1 romp in five innings over host Fort Wayne Wayne on Thursday, April 24.

The Lady Vikes, 8-1, rapped out 19 hits on the day, with Kaylynn Rosen piling up four. Alyssa Hiple, Maddie Kennedy and Grover each had two hits, with Hiple knocking in a pair of runs.

Mikayla Gray, the first of three Huntington North hurlers, got her fourth straight win, striking out three and giving up one hit in two innings.

The Lady Vikings started the slaughter right from the start, getting six hits and 11 runs in the first inning. They tallied four more runs in the second inning, highlighted by Grover's big fly, got five more in the fourth and then the last score in the fifth.
