DeBoni breaks HU record in 200 to pace HU at Little State

Sophomore Daniel DeBoni broke the Huntington University men's track team record in the 200-meter dash and earned a spot at the 2014 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championship with a third place finish at the 109th annual Little State Championship at Indiana Wesleyan University this weekend.
DeBoni streaked to a clocking of :21.6 for his new school mark, and he added fifth in the 100-meter dash by tying his personal best of :10.76, helping HU place eight out of 11 teams with 41 points.
Jake Nash was the only other Forester to be a double-scorer at the meet, tying his personal best in the high jump with a leap of 2.0 meters for second place, and he added seventh in the triple jump at 12.88 meters.
Tyler Herber crushed his personal best in the 10,000-meter run by more than 45 seconds, finishing fifth in 32:04.59.
Brian Menzie added third place points for HU in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:06.60, and Kai Foday took fourth in the javelin with a throw of 45.50. Austin Pressnell placed eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a clocking of 9:58.94.
HU also placed sixth in the 400-meter relay and seventh in the 3,200-meter relay.
The University of Indianapolis won the meet with 164 points.
