Forester netmen fall hard in spring opener

Diego Inurritegui and Joe Brenneman at second doubles picked up the Huntington University men's tennis team's lone win in a 1-8 drubbing to visiting Indiana Tech on Tuesday, April 1, in the spring opener for the Foresters.

Inurritegui, a sophomore, and Brenneman, a junior, topped Sriram Aranganathan and Mikel Oscoz, 8-4, for Huntington, 11-5.

Vlad Khudziy and Joseph Straznicky dropped the first doubles match to Joaquin Ferrando and Kino de Leon, 4-8, while Jacob Cross and Derek Hinen fell in the third by a count of 3-8.

In singles action, Inurritegui lost the No. 3 match to Fernando Sousa, 4-6, 6-7 (3-7), and Straznicky was downed in the second by Aranganathan, 6-7 (4-7), 2-6.

Khudziy was defeated in the No. 1 match by Ferrando, 1-6, 5-7. Cross was a 1-6, 2-6 loser to de Leon in the fifth match, Brenneman was pasted by Oscoz in match No. 5, 3-6, 0-6 and Wilcox's 0-6, 1-6 defeat to Alberto Tenias in the sixth match rounded out the Foresters' day.
