HU trackmen second at Hanover Invite

The Huntington University men's track and field team earned runner-up honors at the Hanover College Invitational, held Saturday, March 29, at the L.S. Ayres Athletic Complex.
Daniel DeBoni led the Foresters with wins in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, clocking in at :10.97 and :22.39, respectively, to help Huntington tally 111 points.
Jake Nash took first in triple jump with a leap of 12.91 meters while the 400-meter relay team of Sean Sewell, Wyatt Jones, Scott Skiles and DeBoni crossed the line in :43.93 to claim the Foresters' fourth top finish of the day.
Other top three finishes included Tyler Herber in the 5,000-meter run, second in 15:43.95; Brandon Hunt in the 400-meter hurdles, second in 1:03.02; Austin Presnell in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, second in 10:28.98; and Brooks Gerke in triple jump, third at 12.01 meters.
Rose Hulman claimed the men's title with 143 points, followed by Huntington, 111; Franklin, 82; Hanover, 62; Spalding, 57.5; Manchester, 41; Thomas More, 27.5; Transylvania, 27; Earlham, 23; Mount St. Joseph, 20; IU East, 16; and Bellarmine, 15.
