PAL tourneys wrap up grid season

The Police Athletic League wrapped up its season on Saturday, Oct. 31, finishing tour-naments in each of the league's three divisions that were begun earlier in the week.

5, 6 and 7-year-olds
In the 5, 6 and 7-year-old division, the undefeated No. 1-seeded Texans took the champi-onship title by slamming the No. 2 Bills 22-0. The Texans defeated the No. 5 Lions 12-6, and the Bills beat the No. 3 Ravens 12-6 to advance to the championship match.

8 & 9-year-olds
The No. 1-seeded 49ers took the 8 & 9-year-old division, shutting out the No. 3 Bears in a close 6-0 championship game. To advance to the final match, the Bears stomped the No. 7 Panthers 24-6, and the 49ers controlled the No. 4 Giants 12-6.

10-year-old and over
The double elimination tournament in the 10-year-old and over division resulted in a championship game featuring the No. 1-seeded Buccaneers and the No. 3 Jaguars, with the Bucs winning 6-0. Both teams played each other immediately before the final match, with the Jaguars defeating the Bucs 20-14, to give each team one loss. The Jaguars reached the final round on Saturday by first beating the No. 4 Titans, and then the No. 2 Redskins. The Bucs defeated the Redskins 2-0 to advance to the final round.
