Weaver leads Lady Eagles past Warriors

Catherine Weaver scored 27 points to lead the Huntington Lady Eagles past the visiting Noble Whitley Warriors, 53-28 on Saturday, Dec. 21.

The Lady Eagles, 6-2, also got 13 points from Kelly Neff and nine from Abby Ballinger.

"It seems like we are starting to figture it out offensively," said Lady Eagles Assistant Coach Kolby Shultz. "Early in the year we were a little lost on offense. We are moving the ball well and getting good looks at the basket. We have played great defense all year so it is good to see us putting the ball in the hoop."

The Lady Eagles defense turned the tide in the game by limited the Warriors to just four second quarter points, helping the team turn a 14-11 first quarter lead into a 30-15 halftime advantage. Huntington led 45-23 at the end of the third quarter.
