Lady Eagles to 2-0 with win over WACHE Warriors

The Huntington Lady Eagles outlasted the WACHE Warriors, 36-27, in a defensive battle at Life Church, in Bluffton, on Friday, Nov. 22.

The Eagles' Catherine Weaver was limited to just nine points against the Warriors. With the defense focused on Weaver, Abby Ballinger dropped in 15 points to pace the team.

The Eagles led 13-9 at halftime and 26-20 after three before WACHE scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter to steal the lead, its first of the game, at 27-26.

Huntington, however, responded with a 10-0 run to finish the game. Coach Mark Shultz's squad sealed the deal when Erin Sickafoose hit a 15-footer for two of her six points for the contest and Ballinger swished a layup and a pair of free throws to cap off a 13-point second half.

The Llady Eagles, 2-0, also got four points from Kelli Neff and two from Suzanne Sickafoose, who was named the player of the game with four rebounds, two steals and a block.

Weaver contributed 15 rebounds and three assists to the Huntington cause.
