HU women's cross country team places fifth at Manchester

The Huntington University women's cross country team took 142 points to place fifth out of 10 teams at the Manchester College Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 17.

HU standout Lauren Johnson swept the competition under the rug, finishing first overall in 22:32, nearly one minute faster than the second place contender.

Bradie Vance took 29th overall in 25:31, Molly Shirey was right behind in 30th with 25:39, Krystal McHenry took 33rd in 25:46 and Joanna Stebing wrapped up the scoring for HU by finishing 73rd in 28:31.

Non-scorers for Huntington were Emilee Green, who ran the 6K in 28:51 to place 79th and Abbey Wise, who took 87th in 29:39.

Manchester took the race overall with 54 points.
