Vikes' Mettler 96th at state cross country meet

Huntington North High School boys' cross country team member Charlie Mettler placed 96th at the Indiana High School Athletic Association State Finals, held at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course, in Terre Haute, on Saturday, Nov. 2.
The Vikings' lone representative at the season's final race, Mettler, a senior, achieved his top 100 finish in 16:49.7.
Carmel placed three runners in the top 10 and tallied 64 points to claim the state championship.
Columbus North was runner-up with 78 points, followed by Carroll, third with 192, Brebeuf Jesuit, fourth with 198 and Terre Haute South, fifth with 228.
Terre Haute South was paced by Jackson Bertoli, the race's individual champion with a time of 15:32.4.
