Forester netmen fall to Marian in Crossroads League finals

The Huntington University men's tennis team lost the championship match of the Crossroads League Tournament to Marian, 1-5, on Saturday, Oct. 5.

The Foresters' lone win came at second doubles, where sophomores Diego Inurritegui and Joseph Straznicky won 8-3 over Mitchell Trammel and Danny Albert.

The Knights upset top-seeded Grace in semifinals before taking down Huntington, which was seeded second.

The Foresters' No. 1 doubles team of Vlad Khudziy and Jose Hungria lost 5-8 to Jason Denton and Marty Pochop.

In singles play, Straznickly lost at second singles, 1-6, 4-6, to Denton; Zakk Sparks at fifth singles was blanked by Pochop, 0-6, 0-6; and Derek Hinen at sixth singles took a 1-6, 0-6 loss to Ryan Heuer.
