Lady Vikes' golf season ends at regional

The season came to an end for the Huntington North High School girls' golf team in the East Noble Regional at Noble Hawk Golf Links, in Kendallville, on Saturday, Sept. 28, as the team fired a 413 to finish 17th out of 18 teams.

Junior Maddi Kennedy carded an 86 to lead the Lady Vikings.

After Kennedy, sophomore Sarah Fryman posted a 104, senior Lauren McCullough shot a 110, senior Gabrielle Malone tendered a 113 and freshman Ashley Hall submitted a 119.

Penn won the regional with a tally of 297, paced by Kari Bellville's 71, which claimed the individual championship. Northwood and Rochester captured the other advancing spots with registers of 335 and 338, respectively.

Marion's Kayla Adamson, Oak Hill's Lauren Tibbetts and South Adams' Sydney Wells all advance without teams.

Huntington North will lose three players to graduation.
