Forester netmen tie for top spot in league

The Huntington University men's tennis team moved into a tie for the top spot in Crossroads League play with a 5-4 win over host Grace on Tuesday, Sept. 25.
The Foresters, 7-1 in league play and 9-2 overall, used a pair of three set wins in singles to claw their way to victory. Vlad Khudziy at first singles beat Daniel Sanchez, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, and Jose Hungria at third singles took a 1-6, 6-1, 6-4 win from Aaron Blevins.
Diego Inurretigui at fourth singles needed only two sets to beat Jacob Stump, 6-3, 6-0, while Khudziy and Hungria teamed up to beat Sanchez and Blevins, 8-4, at first singles, and Joseph Straznicky and Inurretigui at second doubles topped Michael Humphrey and Jose Marval, 8-5.
Straznicky at second singles took a three-set loss to Marval, 6-7, 6-2, 2-6, and Derek Hinen at sixth singles was a three-set victim of Ricardo Bedon, falling 6-3, 4-6, 0-6.
Zakk Sparks at fifth singles lost to Humphrey, 1-6, 5-7, and Sparks and Joe Brenneman at third doubles lost to Jack Wang and Ethan Grove, 1-8.
