Victories by both doubles teams just wasn't enough for the Huntington North High School boys' varsity tennis team as it lost to host Anderson, 2-3, on Monday, Sept. 23.
North's No. 3 singles player Cameron Buzzard pushed his foe, Dax Swanson, to three sets but couldn't quite get it done in a 4-6, 6-3, 1-6 loss.
The Vikings' first doubles team of Matt Sieberns and Graham Sereno beat Zack Abbott and Jason Kobie in three sets, 6-7, 7-5, 6-2, and their second doubles team of Andrew Smith and Nick May took a 7-5, 6-2 win over Connor Hall and Eli Miller.
Tommy Bolinger at first singles got shut out by Joe Moran, 0-6, 0-6, and Wyatt Nave at second singles absorbed a 1-6, 1-6 loss to Nick Whitaker.
The Vikings fall to 4-10 on the season.
HNHS won both junior varsity matches contested to improve its record to 10-4. Nathan Lundy and Cameron Stuttle topped Cameron Bland and Braden Odem, 8-4, and Tyler Gates and Hunter Phillips squeaked by Andrews Bogoams and Nick Brown, 8-7.
