HU women netters fall to SAU

The Huntington University women's tennis team lost to visiting Spring Arbor University, 3-6, on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
The Foresters No. 1 singles player, Cassie Kasicki certainly didn't disappoint, running past Hope Roefels, 6-1, 6-0, but the Foresters were able to grab only two more wins on the day as they fell to 3-4 overall, 3-3 in Crossroads League play.
Morgan Bemisderfer at third singles got a second singles win for HU, defeating Jenna Bart, 6-3, 6-0. The other HU win was at second doubles, where Celine Rongos and Katie Johnson topped Bart and Katie Storrer, 8-3.
Rongos at second singles pushed Quincy Banini to the limit before falling, 4-6, 7-6, 10-8 (tiebreaker).
At fourth singles, Johnson lost to Storrer, 2-6, 2-6, Jessica Abel lost to Mary-Kate McShane, 1-6, 2-6, at fifth singles and Ciara Smith at sixth singles lost to Erin Hossack, 2-6, 2-6.
Kasicki and Bemisderfer at first doubles lost to Roelofs and Banini, 5-8, and Abel and Stacie Cressman at third doubles were topped, 2-8, by McShane and Paige Fallu.
