HU spikers don't find success at Roosevelt Tri-Match

The Huntington University volleyball team didn't have much success at the Roosevelt University Tri-Match on Saturday, Sept. 14, losing to Mount Mercy in four, 18-25, 15-25, 26-24, 23-25, before dropping a 1-3 decision, 18-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-27, to the host Lakers.
After struggling through the first two sets against the Mustangs, the Foresters, 2-10, stepped up the intensity to outlast Mount Mercy in the third set before dropping a close fourth set.
Melissa Grossman and Heather Medich accounted for the bulk of the team's offense, recording 12 and 11 kills, respectively. Jensen Carnahan handed out 42 assists while Codie Morey added 12 digs.
Against Roosevelt, the Foresters kept it close all four matches with Grossman leading the way with a team-high 13 kills. Audrey Mallers and Ashlyn Wendling finished with seven and six kills, respectively. Carnahan handed out 31 assists and Medich and Morey were active on the defensive end with 18 and 15 digs each.
