Wednesday, September 11, 2013 5:44 PM
Sophomore Josh Codd scored a pair of goals to lead the Huntington University men's soccer team to a 3-1 win over visiting Manchester on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
Codd's first goal came at 22:24 and put HU up 1-0 after freshman Isaac Wust made a heads-up play on a temporary stoppage and slotted a pass to Codd for the score. Manchester put HU up 2-0 almost seven minutes later with an own goal.
After Manchester cut the margin to 2-1 in the 56th minute, Codd scored an insurance tally about two minutes later off a pass from Tyson Bradley-Kalischuk.
Forester goalkeeper Drew Mattingly recorded three saves on the day to earn the win, the Foresters fourth against just one loss.
HU recorded 19 shots, 13 on net, for the day.
