Northwest Ohio downs Forester netmen

The Huntington University men's tennis team fell to visiting University of Northwestern Ohio, 3-6, on Thursday, Aug. 29.

The Foresters, 1-1, started things off by taking two of three doubles matches. Seniors Vlad Khudziy and Jose Hungria topped Daniel Rueda and Ronnie Myburgh at first doubles, 8-3, and sophomores Joseph Straznicky and Diego Inurritegui beat Emin Alpan and Thommy Johansson at second doubles, 8-4.

Singles play did not go so well for Huntington, however, as Khudziy picked up the team's only win, defeating Rueda 6-2, 6-1 in the first singles match.

At second singles, Straznicky fell to Alpan, 6-7, 0-6. Hungria lost a competitive match to Johansson at third singles, 4-6, 6-4, 6-7. Inurritegui, Joe Brenneman and Zakk Sparks each fell by a score of 1-6, 0-6, in singles four through six against Myburgh, Michael Kock and Akira Kuwada, respectively.

Brenneman and Sparks lost at third doubles to Kock and Rastko Tatarvic, 2-8.
