Martin, Tester lead Lady Vike booters past South Side

Freshman Bailey Martin scored three goals and junior Corinne Tester added a pair as the Huntington North High School girls' soccer team beat visiting Fort Wayne South Side, 6-4, on Thursday, Aug. 29.

The Lady Vikings, 3-1-1, got goals from Martin and Tester in the first half on the way to building a 2-1 lead. Aly Grabner scored her first of the season to up the margin to 3-1 in the second half before Martin scored two more and Tester got her second to give HNHS a 6-1 advantage.

Brittni Clopton, who scored the South Side goal in the first half, put three more balls in the net to close the gap to the final score.

Martin, who now has seven goals in five games, got her first goal off a feed from Hannah Williams. Martin assisted on Tester's first goal, and Tester returned the favor on Martin's third tally.

Lady Viking goalkeeper Paige Coolman recorded 10 saves on the afternoon.
