HNHS boys dominate NCC cross country meet

Senior standouts Ross Ochs and Josh Graham led the Huntington North High School boys' cross country team to a domination of the 2009 North Central Conference Championship Meet on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion.

Ochs finished second overall and Graham placed third to lead the Vikings to a team score of 25 points, less than half of the total compiled by runner-up New Castle, which had 60 points. Vikings Austin Roberts and Jake Crosley added fourth and fifth places, respectively, and Sean Lewis grabbed 11th to close out the HNHS scoring.

By virtue of finishing in the top 10, the top four Vikings received all-NCC honors.

Darius Vogleman was a non-scorer for HNHS, placing 13th overall.

Logansport's Kyle Overway came out ahead of the 54 other runners to win the race.

Kokomo placed third among the eight teams competing with 99 points, followed by Marion in fourth and Muncie Central in fifth.

Huntington's Curtis Hines was also named coach of the year.
