Huntington Hornets play in pair of tournaments

The 10U Huntington Hornets girls all-star team participated in the 11U fast-pitch softball league at Homier.

The team played in two tournaments, Plainfield, July 13-14 and Anderson on July 26-27.

At Plainfield, Jaclyn Yazel led the way with three hits, four runs scored and four stolen bases.

Hannah Brown led the team with an on base percent of 0.667. Carly Collins had four runs scored and four stolen bases.

MacKenzie LaCroix scored four times. Evelyn Lee had four stolen bases.

Alexa Spahr led the team with three RBIs and had the only extra base hit with a two RBI double. The team placed fourth overall.

In Anderson, MacKenzie LaCroix led the team in every category. She was five for five with two doubles, driving in five runs, six stolen bases and scoring five times.

Evelyn Lee and Kate Leichty each had five hits as well. Lee drove in five runs and had two triples. Kate stole six bases and scored five times, all team bests for the weekend.

Tori Meyers added a double as the Hornets finished third overall.
