Lady Viking volleyball team edges Marion

The Huntington North High School varsity volleyball team defeated host Marion in a close, five-game match, with scores 18-25, 25-20, 25-13, 23-25, 15-8, on Thursday, Oct. 1.

Ashli Rice had 16 kills, Este Stoffel and Melissa Grossman each had 14 kills, Allie Zahm had 51 assists and two aces, Morgan Broderick had 16 digs and Sara Wegman had three blocks to bring the Lady Vikes to a 15-9 record.

The HNHS junior varsity volleyball team lost to Marion in three games, with scores 25-23, 18-25, 10-15.
Taylor Hiers had 14 digs, Kayla Koch had 18 assists and Gretchen Pegan had seven kills.

Thursday's game brought the junior varsity team to a 13-7 record.

The Huntington North freshman volleyball team beat Marion in two sets, with scores 25-24, 25-15.

Thursday's game brought the team to an 8-7 record.

The freshmen were led by Allyson Trout, who had 10 kills; Alexis Wygant, who had nine kills; and Audrey Hiner, who assisted 20 times and had two aces.
