Quinton Smith, a 2013 graduate of Huntington North High Schoolwill be continuing his baseball career at Heartland Community College in Normal, IL.

Smith, a left-handed pitcher for the Huntington North varsity baseball team, actually got noticed by Heartland's staff while playing with the Summit City Sluggers traveling team in the summer of 2012.

"We are excited to be getting a left-handed pitcher of Quin's skill level," said Heartland Head Coach Nate Metzger. "He is a guy who we feel will only get better with experience but he already possesses an advanced approach as a pitcher with the ability to command three pitches."

Smith played through the Huntington County Baseball system growing up and participated in travel baseball with various teams, including the Huntington Heat, Indiana Thunder and, most recently, the Sluggers, where he specialized on the mound.
