JV Lady Vikings split with Norwell

Aly Grabner had six hits and six runs batted in on the day as the Huntington North High School junior varsity softball team split a doubleheader with host Norwell on Saturday, May 11, losing 15-8 and winning 12-5.

Grabner went 3 for 4 with a single, double, triple and three RBI in the opening game loss, then repeated the 3 for 4 effort in the second game, with two triples, a double and three more RBI to help the JV Lady Vikes improve to 8-4 on the season.

Monica Minton added three hits and an RBI in the second game to help make a winner of pitcher Mikayla Gray, who allowed two hits and had 10 strikeouts with nine walks.

Alexa Hill added a triple and double to the HNHS cause, and Rylie Bowman also had two hits as the Lady Vikings pounded out 14 safeties.

Minton had two hits in the opener for HNHS.

Alexandra Kreider took the first game loss for HNHS, throwing a complete game with four strikeouts.
