HNHS netgirls shade Snider

A doubles sweep and a win by Emily Eherenman at third singles earned the Huntington North High School girls' varsity tennis team a 3-2 win over visiting Fort Wayne Snider on Monday, May 6.
The first doubles team of Mariah Zumbrun and Ashley Bard topped Heather Blair and Emily Leitch, 6-0, 6-2, and the second doubles team of Ana Eckert and Emily Karst beat Georgia Baldus and Katsyn Havens, 6-1, 6-4.
Eherenman ran past Martha Manges, 6-2, 6-0, for the clinching win as the Lady Vikes upped their season mark to 7-5.
Kari Bard at second singles put up a strong effort against Lydia Neff before falling, 6-7, 3-6, and Casey Richmond, subbing for usual number one player Kylie Fredrick, lost to Stephanie Reed, 2-6, 1-6.
The junior varsity squads only played two matches with HNHS winning both. Sara Fryman beat Haley Matthias, 8-4, and in doubles Hannah Edris and Jessica Onate dominated Paige Burkhead and Brittany Huber, 8-1.
