Junior Erin Rethlake threw a no-hitter and her Huntington North High School softball teammates helped celebrate with 16 hits in a 10-0 thrashing of visiting Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger on Monday, April 22.

Rethlake struck out nine Lady Saints, and the only thing between her and a perfect game was her own fielding error.

Audrey Hiner led the offensive attack with three hits, and Maddi Kennedy, Alyssa Hiple, Tori Newsome, Kaylynn Rosen and Natasha Grover each had a pair of safeties. Rosen, who had a double among her hits, was the big run-producer with three runs batted in, and Kennedy had a pair of RBI.

Hiple, Newsome, Makayla Whaley, Cassie Lange and Grover all collected an RBI as well.

The Lady Vikes, 5-0, touched Dwenger for a pair of runs in the first, then took the pressure off Rethlake late with an eighth-run barrage in the sixth inning.
