Lady Vike trackgirls sixth at Marion Invitational

The Huntington North High School girls' varsity track team tallied 63.5 points to finish sixth out of eight teams at the Marion Invitational at Marion on Saturday, April 13.

The distance medley team topped its race in 13:55.90 for the Lady Vikings' lone championship on the day.

Marie Ditzler had a silver finish for the team, completing the 3,200-meter run in 12:40.56.

Huntington North picked up points in team events, with the 3,200-meter relay squad taking third in 11:25.10, the 400-meter relay foursome grabbing sixth in :55.38, the 800-meter sprint medley team earning seventh in 2:07.67 and the 1,600-meter quartet placing eighth in 4:53.16.

Allie Christian's fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in :17.85 rounded out the team's performance on a day in which seven of its top contributors were competing at the Midwest Prep Meet at Lawrence Central.

Snider won the invitational with 106 points, followed by Kokomo's 90, Oak Hill's 87, South Bend Adams' 65, Marion's 64, Huntington North's 63.5, Delta's 39 and Richmond's 22.5.
