Ogle, Spahr earn Little State Championships

Cendall Ogle and Gretchen Spahr were individual champions and helped the Huntington University women's track and field team finish seventh out of 11 teams at the Indiana Little State Championships hosted by Indiana Wesleyan University on Friday, April 12, and Saturday, April 13.

Ogle topped the 800-meter run in 2:23.5 and Spahr took the 5,000-meter run in 18:12.7.

The pair of wins accounted for 20 of the Foresters' 43 points.

Ogle supplied eight more to the team's tally with her runner-up finish in the 1,500-meter run in 4:51.01.

Other individual points came via Shana Christian's fifth in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.40, Krista Wood's fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:01.03 and Brianna Gregory's eighth in the 100-meter dash in :13.26.

The relay teams added to Huntington's register as the 400-meter squad finished sixth in 52.40, the 1,600-meter crew grabbed eighth in 4:23.75 and the 3,200-meter quartet placed seventh in 10:21.47.

The University of Indianapolis won the meet with 227.5 points.
