Forester track teams get three wins at IWU Polar Bear Invitational

The Huntington University track and field teams kicked off the outdoor portion of its season at Indiana Wesleyan University's Polar Bear Invitational on Saturday, March 23, capturing three top finishes on the day.

Freshman Daniel DeBoni ran to first-place in the 200-meter dash, turning in a time of :22.45, the sixth-fastest in Forester history. Cendall Ogle also got into the Huntington record books with her top time of 4:51.79 in the 1,500-meter run, the ninth-best mark for the women's program to date. Heather Johnson completed the trio of champions with her javelin toss of 102-11.75.

Grabbing second-place finishes for the Foresters were DeBoni in the 100-meter dash with a time of :11.20, Johnson in pole vault with a height of 9-3.75 and Jake Nash in high jump with a bound of 6-4, earning him the fourth spot in the Huntington record books.

Other top five finishes for Huntington included Brianna Gregory's third in the 100-meter dash in 13.35, Miranda Boyts' fourth in the 10,000-meter run in a personal record time of 41:45.94, Shana Christian's fifth in the 400-meter dash in 1:02.52, Scott Skiles' fifth in the men's in :52.48 and Jacob Stone's fifth in pole vault with a height of 12-5.50.
