CMS girls split games at lakeview tournament

After each losing their first game in the Lakeview Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 9, the Crestview Middle School girls' seventh and eighth grade basketball teams both won their second game.

The seventh grade team, 10-4, dismantled host Lakeview, 41-18.

Hollyn Anderson scored 14 points and collected three rebounds for the Cougars, followed by Karmen Koch's eight points, Rileigh Johnson's seven points and seven boards and Sydney Kyle's four points and five rebounds.

The eighth grade team climbed over .500 with its 35-26 win over Northside.

Kylie Kaylor led Crestview, 7-6, with nine points. Kenzie Estep, Madison Houser and Jen Bartels each tossed in six points, Aubrie Eckert added four and Sierra Lehman led the team in boards with five.

In the first game, the eighth grade squad lost to Northridge, 35-21. Houser paced the Cougars with six points.

The seventh-graders suffered a 33-17 setback in their first game, also against Northridge. Koch put in five points for Crestview, Johnson supplied four points and five rebounds and Emily Johnson came up with four points and three boards.
