Crestview 7 girls win own hoops tourney

The Crestview Middle School girls' seventh grade basketball team won the Crestview Middle School tournament on Saturday, Jan. 12, with a 35-12 victory against Whitko in the championship game and a 33-26 victory over Peru in the opening round.

Karmen Koch led the Cougars, 4-2, with 10 points and three rebounds in the title game. Hollyn Anderson added seven points to the team's offensive effort, Sid Kyle tossed in six, Peyton Butler supplied four points and five boards and Mickey Gilpin delivered four points and as many rebounds.

Anderson paced Crestview against Peru, putting up 11 points. Riliegh Johnson contributed eight points and three boards to the Cougars' cause, Gilpin provided six points and Kyle had four points and three rebounds.
