Forester women dump Goshen

Amelia Recker scored 18 points to lead four Foresters in double figures as the Huntington University women's basketball team dumped host Goshen College, 70-50, on Thursday, Jan. 10.

Taylor Foley backed up Recker with 13 points, Pazia Speed scored 11 and Sara Miller-Jennings added 10 points as the Foresters improved to 12-6 on the season, 4-3 in the Crossroads League.

The Foresters jumped out to a 31-24 lead in the first half and got the lead as high as 23 points in the second. A 10-4 run midway through the first half turned a 13-12 lead into a 23-14 advantage, and Huntington's lead was never smaller than 10 points after the first three minutes of the second half.

Kelsey Hubble added eight points for HU, which shot 27 of 58 from the field for 46.6 percent for the contest, and 10 of 11 from the free-throw line for 90.9 percent.
Goshen, 2-17, was led by Jo'Mani Thomas with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

Foley led HU on the boards with eight rebounds, and Lauren Meese led in assists with five.

Goshen hit 20 of 52 from the field for 38.5 percent and was 7 of 7 from the charity stripe for 100 percent.
