Undefeated Wildcats blast Forester women's hoop team

Undefeated host Indiana Wesleyan blasted the Huntington University women's basketball team by 24 in the first half of their tilt on Wednesday, Jan. 2, to put things out of reach early and send the Foresters to an 82-44 defeat.

Allison Greene paced the Foresters, 10-5, with 18 points. The senior was the only player to reach double figures for Huntington, which made only 17 of 55 shots for the game for 30.9 percent.

Paige Smith and Taylor Goshert had no trouble finding the hoop for Indiana Wesleyan, 16-0, going a combined 17 for 25 for 22 and 20 points, respectively. As a team, the Wildcats shot 60.4 percent from the field on 32 of 53 shooting.

Less than five minutes into the game, Indiana Wesleyan built a 13-2 lead, thanks largely to Smith and Goshert, who combined to score 11 points, putting Huntington in a hole for the rest of the contest.
