Viking bowlers tied for top in conference

The Huntington North High School boy's varsity bowling team moved into a first place tie with Norwell in the Hoosier Conference by beating the Knights, 16-4, at Bluffton on Tuesday, Nov. 20.

The Vikings used close wins in the two games to get what appeared to be a lopsided win, but it was anything but that. The Vikings topped the Knights 935-932 in the opener and then clipped them, 926-924, in the second contest.

The Vikings piled up their points by winning three out of five individual games in each game and then getting both five-point bonuses for high score.

Zac Tackett led by Vikings in both games, firing a 226 in the opener and a 214 in the second. Adam Harris-Shoemaker was his wingman in both games, firing a 192 in the first game and a 202 in the second.

Tyler Krepp also scored a 192 in the first game, followed by AJ Bickel's 177 and Jon Scott's 148.

Trent Kline piled up a 189 in the second game, Bickel added a 175 and Krepp had a 146.
