JV Vikes score from all sides to crush Columbia City, 33-14

The Huntington North High School junior varsity football team scored offensively, defensively and on special teams on the way to rushing visiting Columbia City, 33-14, on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Improving to 1-1 on the season, the JV Vikes got a rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown on offense, returned both an interception and fumble for scores and added a score on an onside kickoff return.

Brad Nieman got the rushing touchdown for HNHS with a 55-yard jaunt into the end zone, and Reed Faucet threw a 27-yard score for the passing touchdown.

On defense, Skyler Newsome took back one of his two interceptions for 45 yards and a score and Zack Elliott recovered a fumble for a score.

Cody Frazier got the remaining six-pointer when he returned an onside kick 50 yards.
