Carroll bests HNHS in volleyball

All three Huntington North High School volleyball teams were downed by Carroll on Wednesday, Aug.19.

During the varsity match, Carroll beat the Lady Vikings (0-1) in three games, 15-25, 11-25 and 24-26.

Melissa Grossman led the Lady Vikings with seven kills, two aces and three blocks.
Allie Zahm had 16 assists, Ashli Rice had six kills and Morgan Broderick had nine digs .

The junior varsity team lost in two games, 16-25 and 17-25.

The Lady Vikings (0-1) were led by Taylor Hiers with 12 digs. Gretchen PeGan had six digs and Kayla Koch had five assists.

The freshman team lost in two games as well, 20-25 and 21-25.

The Lady Vikes (0-1) were led by Josie Eckert with six kills and four aces. Marisa Kitt had nine digs and Audrey Hiner had 11 assists.

The varsity and junior varsity next play tonight, Thursday, Aug. 20, at New Haven at 6 p.m.
