History of 'Taps'

Thomas Aquinas Parker reads the history of “Taps,” the bugle call that is played during military funerals, during the Huntington Veterans Day Ceremony at Memorial Park on Saturday, Nov. 11. Parker is the grandson of Thomas Parker, a Navy corpsman who died in the Vietnam War. A bronze statue commemorating the fallen Parker, whose body was never recovered, was unveiled during the ceremony.
