27th annual Zanesville Homespun Day set for Saturday, Sept. 5

The 27th annual Zanesville Homespun Day will be held Saturday, Sept. 5.

Booths will be set up in the parking lot of Zanesville United Methodist Church and extending to the Lions Building along Van Horn Street.

The pancake and sausage breakfast will be at the church from 7 to 10 a.m.

The parade lineup will be held from 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m., with the parade beginning at 10 a.m.

The ZUB Bike Rodeo will then be held at 12:30 p.m. at ZUM, lower level. The event is open to all ages, but participants must bring their own bikes and helmets. Trophies will be awarded.

Horse-drawn wagon rides will be offered at the lower level of the United Methodist Church on Saturday.

Booths may be registered by calling Dave Jones. There is a fee to have a booth. Set up is between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m.

Booths will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The model car and truck contest is taking registrations for ages 6 and up at the ZUM. Call Larry Riesen at 639-3981 for more information.

The Lions Club car show will feature cars, trucks and motorcycles. It will be held in the parking lot of the United Methodist Church. Entries may also be in the parade. Proceeds go to the Zanesville Community Park and Lions Club projects.

The show will last all day with awards at 2 p.m.
A softball tourney will be going on all weekend at the ballpark. The concession stand will be open.

The Quilt and Needlework show and sale will be inside the Tower Life Center from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The chicken barbecue will be at the ballpark from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It includes a salad bar, apple dumplings, root beer floats and ice cream. The Zanesville Lions Club sponsors this event.

The Church of God will host a bake sale and will also sell snow cones and bratwurst. It is located near the ballpark.

Zanesville is located at the Allen-Wells county line on Indianapolis/Marzane Road (Ind.-3). It is three miles south of I-469 Exit 2 and seven miles north of Markle I-69 Exit 86.
