Organizers of the 2017 Huntington Heritage Days festival are lining up participants for the June 17 parade and offering the official button for the festival, which runs from June 14 through June 18.

The button features this year’s festival theme, “The ’40s: Liberty, Democracy, Dignity,” and the name of the festival sponsor, Gerdau Huntington Facility. It also depicts the Lockheed T-33A Shooting Star, a jet trainer aircraft used by the United States Air Force during the 1940s. One of the planes is on display in the veterans’ memorial at Memorial Park.

The button is available for purchase at the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce office, 305 Warren St., Huntington.

The parade steps off at 10 a.m. on June 17. The official colors are red, white and blue. Parade entries must pay a fee and provide a certificate of liability (proof of insurance).
