St. Peter announces Holy Week services

St. Peter Lutheran Church, in Huntington, has announced its Holy Week services.

A Maundy Thursday service will be held tonight, April 13, at 7 p.m., celebrating the Lord’s Supper. The service concludes with the stripping of the altar and the reading of Psalm 22.

Good Friday services on April 14 are at 12:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. The Tenebrae Service, an ancient liturgy, is a service of darkness. The account of the Lord’s Passion is read from the gospels.

An Easter vigil will be held on Saturday, April 15, at 5 p.m. The vigil is a service of light and includes a Service of Readings. An abbreviated liturgy will be used.
Easter services, celebrating the resurrection, will be held on Sunday, April 16, at 7:30 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. The children will sing during the later service.
