YMCA students Christmas program

Parkview Huntington Family YMCA Pre-K students (from left) Jonah Jeffers, Veda Brown, Caleb Cureton, Lyriel Plasterer, Jozie Medina, Jackson Cutshall, Brantley Myers, Violet Lederle, Adali Wisialowski, DJ Patterson and Konner Covey practice a performance of “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” on Thursday, Dec. 17. The students later performed the song as it was recorded and uploaded to the YMCA’s YouTube page. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, educators made the decision to air the students’ program virtually, rather than inviting an in-person audience. The program was part of the students’ celebration during the last day of class before the holiday break.

The Parkview Huntington Family YMCA’s preschoolers performed their Christmas programs differently this year.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the hard decision was made to not let anyone into the classrooms during the students’ holiday celebrations.

Educators reimagined the 2020 Christmas program performances, said Karen Teusch, preschool coordinator.

Each class performed their program in their classroom. The performances were recorded and uploaded onto the YMCA’s YouTube page.

The recorded performances can be viewed there. Visit youtube.com, and search for “Parkview Huntington YMCA Marketing.”

Each class level performed their own program.
